Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer repeatedly has said that he hopes to make inroads promoting boxing events in the United Kingdom in 2013.
Golden Boy Promotions made a big move to that end Thursday, announcing the signing of 2012 British Olympic bronze medalist Anthony Ogogo.
“Anthony Ogogo has everything you look for in a boxer,” Schaefer said in announcing the signing. “He can fight, he has style and charisma and he has amazing crossover potential. I have no doubt that Anthony has the skills in the ring and the personality outside of it to make him a global boxing star.
