Sleep
apnea is a serious sleep disorder that occurs when a person’s breathing
is interrupted during sleep. People with natural sleep apnea stop
breathing repeatedly during their sleep, sometimes hundreds of times.
This means the brain and the rest of the body may not get enough oxygen.
An individual who suffers sleep apnea is
frequently not aware of having difficulty in breathing even upon
awakening. Symptoms may be present for years without identification,
during that time a person who has this state may become conditioned to
the daytime sleepiness and fatigue associated with significant levels of
sleep disturbance. Sleep apnea can affect anyone at any age, even
children. This also appears disorder to bring with it a greater chance
of dying sooner, especially for middle-aged and senior men.
